Well, once upon a time (December 8th, 2009, according to the file info) this was a speculative angsty fic, over-influenced by the mood of Cat On a Hot Tin Roof, which I was reading at the time. It’s now AU-er than AU. But not having the self-control to throw it out, I wrote a few hundred words to end it and edited it a little and . . . well, here it is. (It’s lonely out here on hiatus . . . that’s my excuse!)
